NyRee Hardaway

Ny'Ree has been volunteer with ACD since January. She is a playwright/director/actress is proud wife and mother of three. Graduated of Wayne State University in 2003 with BFA in Theatre. Ny'Ree's career highlights include the premiere of Jazzy Ass Woman in 2008 and  Wrong Cycle in 2010. Both written, directed and featuring her.

Maggie Davenport

In August ArtsCorpsDetroit eagerly welcomed our AmericorpsVISTA volunteer. As Community Liaison, Maggie interacts with our community partners, Wayne State students and faculty as well as the Detroit arts community at-large. 

Lisa Marie Rodriguez

Lisa Marie Rodriguez got involved through a service-learning course and was inspired to organize a neighborhood effort to create a large-scale installation at the Heidelberg Project.

Children's Hospital Ceramic Mural Project

Matt Lambert works with patients at Children's Hospital of Michigan to create a tiles for a large ceramic mural that will be permanently installed in hospital.

Ulysses Hollowellm - Ceramic works of art!

Uly, a service learning student, volunteered at Capuchin Soup Kitchen in its Rosa Parks Youth Program. Each Friday, for over 11 weeks, Uly worked with youth creating ceramic works of art. According to Uly, "art activities foster a sense of exploration, problem-solving, team-building, self esteem and confidence boosters that will empower youth to become effective thinkers, planners and doers".

ACD Volunteers Win WSU Campus Art Installation Competition

Congratulations to ACD Students Ayaka Hibino and Joe LaLonde for winning the 2nd Annual WSU Campus Art Installation.

Clients at Mariners Inn work on plaster life-masks

A project involving WSU students helped the clients of Mariners Inn create plaster life-masks that were later painted. Clients wrote reflections on their interpretations of the masks that were exhibited in the Swords Into Plowshares Gallery in Detroit.
